Well it took so much longer that I an anticipated moving from WIX to Shopify but after much frustration and time the site is up. I still have some new pieces just out of the kiln to photograph and add to the site. I need a few rainy days to keep me focused on the task at hand. I am back at school teaching full time art and ceramics and this is a very busy time. Summer was wonderful but always too short. However, when I am back in class with my students the days fly by. Now to put the garden to bed... thus the need for rainy days.
Next on my list is applying to some winter markets. I was hoping to be accepted by the Old Strathcona Farmers market but sadly no, hopefully in the future. Edmonton has some great winter markers including the outside market at Fort Edmonton. While I was unable to attend last year I hear it was fantastic. I am still mulling over applying to this market but the prairie, or perhaps more aptly boreal forest pessimist thinks if I go this year it will be very, very cold. I am leaning towards the Bountiful Market for the winter season because it is indoors and I do not have to lug tables around, carrying bins of pottery is enough of a work out.
I had a great time at the St. Albert Farmers market this year and will attend next year. I have my system for this market down. I can be set up or down in 30 minutes. Being very organized is the trick, sounds easy but setting up at markets is a process and like all needs practice.
